Family Day at the Florence County Museum

From toddlers to grandparents, Family Days at the Florence County Museum are sure to offer something for everyone. Join us the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for Family Day at the FCM. No registration required. Free of charge.

Woven Together

Small Loom Weaving
Museum Lobby
All Ages

The simple process of weaving can create beautiful fabrics! Participants will create a small weaving using a small cardboard loom.

Using Natural Dyes
Museum Courtyard
All Ages

Add color to fiber using the magic of indigo. Participants will create a small sample by experimenting with different dyeing techniques.

Simple Stitches
Art Studio
Ages 4 and up

Draw with stitches! Participants will learn basic hand stitching and create a small     stitched design.

Community Weaving Project
Museum Courtyard
All Ages

Add your touch to the community tapestry located in the Museum’s courtyard. Participants add yarn and fabric scraps to the large ongoing weaving project.
