Jenks Farmer, plantsman and author of recently released Funky Little Flower Farm, will give a public lecture from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M. at the Florence County Museum.

Jenks Farmer knows the value of old style, self-taught gardening and of new techniques in horticulture. With a reflective, soulful voice, he’s guided gardeners, craftsmen, volunteers and scientists and made gardens enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people a year. Jenks has shaped the vision of botanical gardens, historic gardens, parks and his own organic flower farm hosting millions of visitors a year collectively.

Jenks is the director of South Carolina’s three newest botanical gardens and served as lead designer for the Florence County Museum courtyard and Moore Farms Botanical Garden. He has given lectures at the Smithsonian, Davidson College, Perennial Plant Association, North Carolina State University, EPCOT & Disney Flower Show, and many more.

The book talk will be held at the Florence County Museum, 111 West Cheves St, on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. The event is free and open to the public. Copies of Funky Little Flower Farm will be available for purchase during the scheduled event.
