Cassettes, VHS & Atari by Hollis Brown Thornton

There's Still Time

There’s Still Time is an exhibition of paintings and contemporary mixed media works by native South Carolina artist Hollis Brown Thornton. His recent large scale drawings often examine the malleable nature of memory in both personal experience and popular culture.

Thornton received his BFA from the University of South Carolina, and has been working professionally since 2000. His work has been exhibited in France, Germany and Japan, and has appeared in Elle magazine and The New Yorker.

There’s Still Time will open August 9, 2018 in the Waters Gallery at 135 South Dargan Street. The exhibition will be on display through December 7, 2018.

Everything I do works with the balance between precision and the inherent limitations of making something by hand.” – Hollis Brown Thornton
