Cemento Armato

Savannah based artist Lisa D. Watson transforms reclaimed and recycled materials into large-scale, wall-mounted assemblage compositions which represent fragments of the urban landscape. Her recent works capture the literal environment with a careful and formal abstraction emphasized by their non-rectangular construction.

Over the past 25 years, the interplay between natural and man-made in Watson’s art has also manifested itself in her work as a muralist, art director, and garden designer.

Her work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions in Key West, Savannah and Los Angeles, as well as in art fairs and exhibitions such as The New South (Atlanta), Art on Paper (New York), and at ArtFields (Lake City).

FCM is pleased to present Watson as the recipient of the 2020 Solo Exhibition Award, sponsored by the Florence Regional Arts Alliance.

Cemento Armato will be on view in the FCM Waters Gallery through December 9, 2020.
