Family Day at the Florence County Museum

From toddlers to grandparents, Family Days at the Florence County Museum are sure to offer something for everyone. Join us the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for Family Day at the FCM. No registration required. Free of charge.

Celebrate the beginning of summer and watching things grow!

Participants will plant seedlings in a flower pot they will dye in indigo. Watch the colors change while the indigo oxidizes and take home a little planting of your own to care for. Learn what seeds need to grow and observe the process during the summer months.

These actives are inspired by Tomato & Corn Clubs photographs from the early 20th century; agricultural initiatives designed to stimulate economic growth by bringing farm work into publicly funded elementary schools.
