Studios
The Florence County Museum will be offering a five-week photography studio starting January 27, 2015. The studio instructor will be Julie Mixon. Mixon received her M.F.A. in Photography from Eastern Carolina University in 2004. She currently lives in Florence, South Carolina where she teaches as Assistant Professor of Photography at Francis Marion University. Alternative Photographic Processes (Adult)
Tuesdays, 6:00 – 9:00 pm *Beginning January 27th, 2015
5 sessions, $190 (10 Students Maximum)
*Digital Camera required.
This course covers techniques to physically alter and manipulate a digital print. Emphasis is placed on transferring images to various surfaces such as printmaking paper, wood and canvas. Previous experience is beneficial, but not required. The required camera selections may as simple as a smart phone camera or as complex as a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera.

Third Studio: February 10th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Fourth Studio: February 17th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Final Studio: February 24th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Mornings at the Museum
Mornings at the Museum is an interactive program for children ages 3-5 and their accompanying adult. This program is offered during the school year on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. The 1st Wednesday of each month will be history related topics. The 3rd Wednesday of each month will be Visual Arts related topics. Each program will include a gallery visit, story time, and hands-on studio activity. Registration is required as space is limited to 15 children.

Family Days
From toddlers to grandparents, Family Days at the Florence County Museum are sure to offer something for everyone. Programs will include gallery activities, hands-on studio projects, and more. Join us the second Sunday of each month from 2 pm to 4 pm for Family Day at the FCM. No registration required. Family Days will begin Sunday February 8th. More Family Days info will be made available on the museum website (flocomuseum.org) during the next few weeks.
