The Florence Regional Arts Alliance & The Florence County Museum are proud to announce A Memory Rewound featuring the work of Sally Garner. A Memory Rewound is an installation exhibit that explores the validity of our fondest memories and how the mind recollects.

Sally Garner earned her BFA in sculpture from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. During her time as a student, Garner began incorporating the craft of crochet into her artwork. Garner has been crocheting since 2009 and started to teach the craft in 2014. Today, she creates crocheted installations using non-traditional fibers to create works that incorporate both the nostalgia associated with traditional crocheting and the contemporary appeal for artwork that abstracts metaphors and enchants the senses.

A Memory Rewound can be viewed in Florence County Museum Waters Gallery located at 135 South Dargan Street; Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The exhibition opens July 21, 2015 and will be on display through October 4, 2015.

This exhibition is made possible by the Florence Regional Arts Alliance, the Florence County Museum, Diversity Works Magazine, Hilliard Lyons, She Magazine and the Florence Downtown Development Corporation.
