The Florence County Museum is proud to announce a gallery lecture by Dr. Lana A. Burgess on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 PM. Dr. Burgess will use works of art currently on display from the Wright Collection of Southern Art to provide an overview of Southern Art. The Florence County Museum Community Arts Lecture Series is part of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The museum works to combine original works of art with historians, collectors, and working artists, to provide our community with essential information to help better understand the unique relationship between community and the visual arts.

Dr. Lana A. Burgess, Assistant Clinical Professor, is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A. in Interdisciplinary Humanities; Ph.D. in the History and Criticism of Art), and the University of South Carolina (M.A. in Art History; Certificate in Museum Management).
