Directly adjacent and open to the main lobby is the Community Gallery. This 1,300 sq. ft. gallery introduces visitors to the history of the museum and its formative collections. Cultural artifacts from these defining collections are presented in the museum’s largest display case, a 250 square foot central glass enclosure with a ten-foot floor-to-ceiling height. Community Cube highlights include: early 20th century Pueblo Pottery, Mississippian Period Native American objects, Mesopotamian, Greek, & Roman antiquities, South Asian & African textiles, 16th & 19th century Chinese objects and ethnographic artifacts originating from the oceanic islands of Micronesia.

Additionally, this gallery exhibits the histories and diversity of the City of Florence, and the incorporated municipalities of Florence County. Each municipality is featured on the 36-foot-wide south gallery wall, composed of interpretive graphics, text and wall-mounted display vitrines for exhibiting objects from each area of Florence County. Lastly, this gallery serves to exhibit and interpret the lives, stories and accomplishments of significant past and present citizens of Florence County and members of its communities.
